PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Dear Residents:
On behalf of the Board of Commissioners of Lower Swatara Township, I’d like to welcome you to this beautiful community. It is a Township rich in agriculture, industry, but most of all….people. It is a Township where community cooperation and spirit reign and where the safety of the people who dwell and work here takes precedence. For many who settled here years ago and continue to live in the Township, the growth of what once used to be a predominately rural area is evident. With developments and businesses springing up where farmers once farmed their land, careful steps in planning and zoning have been taken to ensure that the Township remains aesthetically desirable for both its residents and businesses. Within our boundaries are Penn State University, connections to the Pennsylvania Turnpike, and the Harrisburg International Airport.
Additionally, our Township staff stands by ready to assist you with any questions and/or problems you may have in the Township. If you have a building permit request, trash and/or recycling question, police or highway matter, etc., that is not addressed on our website, I encourage you to visit and/or phone the Township staff.
Lastly, our Board of Commissioners meets twice a month, and all meetings are open to the public. There are other Township boards and commissions that meet during the month, and schedules of these meetings are posted on this website.
We hope in visiting our community, you will experience the serenity and warmth that we believe exists here, and you’ll come back again.
Sincerely,

Frank Linn, President
Lower Swatara Township Board of Commissioners
